ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Continues Growth in 2011
Opens 2012 with a bold new line-up on display at MWC
Barcelona, Spain—
Be simple. Be different. Be smart. These are the three defining messages of the ALCATEL ONE TOUCH booth at the 2012 Mobile World Congress (Avenue 12, Fira de Barcelona). The brand arrives in Barcelona with positive 2011 financial results and a promising outlook for 2012. Key growth will be driven by an expanded line-up of mobile phones with an emphasis on smartphones and tablets, and a new range of mobile broadband products for personal and home connectivity. In addition, the company continues to further its global reach with a focus on markets such as Brazil, China and the US. This sustained growth is supported by a strategic reinforcement of its R&D and production capabilities, as well as a strong emphasis on design development out of its Italian-based International Design Center.
The ALCATEL ONE TOUCH strategic approach continues to focus on offering end-consumers choice with different designs tailored for different styles and needs loaded with the features they need, all at a smart price.
“We really put the people who need and use our products at the heart of our business. Accessible technology is critical in the world today, and we believe in bringing more choice and more value to our end-consumer,” explained Vittorio Di Mauro, Vice President of Global Marketing.
2011 Success
2011 marked the 6th consecutive year of growth for the company, with impressive results in all regions, and notably an increase in handsets sold in the EMEA (+22% YoY) and China (+143% YoY.) The year also saw strategic partnering with key global operator networks. The first of such partnerships is the Vodafone 555 Blue, the world’s first prepaid handset with Facebook pre-installed. And beginning in Q4 2011, ALCATEL ONE TOUCH teamed with Orange to launch three new affordably-priced mobile phones with deep Facebook integration and a dedicated “F” key that will be available in 15 countries throughout Europe and Africa—ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 585F, ONE TOUCH 813F, and ONE TOUCH 908F.
What’s next?
In 2012 ALCATEL ONE TOUCH, continues to build on this successful growth strategy, and expands its product line-up to include more diversity and strengthen its Android smartphone line-up with 12 models. The smartphone range will include a variety of options from entry-level Android devices such as the ONE TOUCH SMART 918 to powerful Android® smartphones with extended capabilities such as HDMI and DLNA, as seen in the ONE TOUCH ULTRA 995. By designing products to best match different consumer lifestyles, ALCATEL ONE TOUCH has captured the need of individuals being different while staying simple.
Moving towards 2013, ALCATEL ONE TOUCH will enlarge its scope to become a full-range mobile technology brand - adding mobile lifestyle products for personal and home connectivity to its offering. This product range will include mobile broadband devices and tablets, such as the ONE TOUCH TAB 20, a sleek aluminum-bodied 7-inch Wi-Fi tablet with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
